R.K. Mishra : Chairperson; M.S. ( Michigan State ) PhD ( University of Chicago ) After completion of the PhD degree worked as a faculty member in several prestigious universities including University of Florida and the Vanderbilt University Medical colleges in the USA retired from the latter university. Has numerous publications in refereed international journals on the mechanism of action of antibiotic and antidepressants. The significant accomplishment of the research project is based on the elucidation of the mechanism of action of fluexitin (prozac), which still plays a significant role in the treatment of billions of people around the world.

Gita Mishra : Vice Chairperson; M.D., FAAFP ( USA ) Board certified member of the American Academy of family physicians since 1979. Presently a faculty member of the Meharry Medical College and the Vanderbilt University College of medicine. In private practice since 1978. Recipient of Best physicians Award in 1983. Past Director of (a) Medical education and (b) Minority physician’s affairs in the state of Tennessee , USA .

Susmita Mishra Member; MD., F.A.C.P. USA After graduating from the high school and the college with a 4.0 average received her M.D degree. Now as a board certified Internal Medicine Specialist has joined the prestigious Northwestern University college of medicine, in the rank of Assistant Professor of medicine. Among other responsibilities Dr. Mishra as a student councilor has taken delegates of thirty medical students to Spain (Europe), Nicaragua and El Salvador (Central America) for the last three years towards their continuing education.

Shrimant Mishra; Member; M.D.; M.P.H., FACP (USA) Dr. Mishra graduated in the top two percent of the High school graduates of the USA. He is the recipient of President Humphrey Scholarship Award which included full tuition and board, for four years of college education. Exchange Merit Scholar at the University of Massachusetts for one year. After finishing M.D. and the MPH program at the University California at Berkley now specializing in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago , USA .

Sunita Mishra (Shukla), Member; B.S Washington University, MPH, St.Louis University, Ph.D. (University of Chicago-pending), Ms. Sunita Mishra after excelling through all her academic career has now joined the prestigious University of Chicago as a pre-doctoral fellow in the department of Genetic Engineering. She has already a number of professional publications to her credit.

B.K. Mishra Member; PhD. After finishing his Post graduate study at the University of Florida worked in the Government colleges for many years. Managing several colleges as the Principal for a number of years retired as the principal and Professor from the Rajadhani college, Bhubaneswar , Odissa. Dr. Mishra has several publications to his credit. His original work on the On the Cripps commission report concerning the independence of India was published as a book. Best known for his managerial skill.

S.K. Rath, Member; B.E. ( Ranchi ), M.Tech and Ph.D. IIT, Kharagpur). Prof. Rath is well recognized by the peers for his teaching and the research acumen. He is a pioneer in the field of Software Engineering in the state of Odissa. He has many publications in the international journals and presented papers in several national and international conferences. Dr. Rath Served four years as the Head, dept. of Computer Science and Engg. at the NIT, Rourkela . He was Worked at the U of Connecticut , USA , Technical University of Budapest, Hungary and the Asian Institute of Technology , Singapore , as visiting professor.

Ganapati Panda Member; Prof. Panda is an authority in the field of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. At present, he is the Director, NIT, Jamashedpur. He has guided many postgraduate and Ph.D students and published in international journals. Visited USA , Europe and Asian countries for academic interaction. Dr.Panda received the prestigious “Samata Chandra Sekhar” award in the state of Odissa for his outstanding scientific contribution to the society.

Nature of Extent of involvement of faculty and students in academic affairs improvements.
The faculty members are involved in all possible academics activities of the college as well as of the University. The faculty members are engaged in imparting both theoretical and practical teaching including organizing seminars and conducting project work. They participate in examination duty and help the University in evaluating answer papers, supervising examination at other colleges and framing the curricula and syllabi.
The teachers are involved in training and placement activities, teaching beyond the syllabus and helping the college in or other co-curricular and extra curricular activities. The students also participate in many co-curricular and extra-curricular activities like organizing seminars, sports, cultural and social activities.
Mechanism/ Norms and Procedure for democratic / good Governance
The college has a vision, mission and a set up goals. The mission and goals are widely circulated among the faculty members, technical and supporting staff and students. The academic, financial, disciplinary and other norms are made known to everybody. The mission and goals are aimed at improving academics and customer satisfaction excellence. The Trust is philanthropic, the Governing Body targets quality, the Principal and HODs provide the leadership. The college does not charges any fees other than those declared by it. It does not expect donation at the time admission.

The Management quota seats are filled up from the list of AIEEE/ JEE Orissa or from the students / who directly apply to the college but posses 50% mark an average in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

JUSTIFICATION FOR STARTING THE PROPOSED PROGRAMME IN MCA 
 Now EAST is in an excellent position to embark upon an ambitious MCA program for the academic year 2006-2007. Now in the prime time for the MCA graduates to get employment. Besides EAST has
  1. The needed built up infrastructure.
  2. Most qualified faculty.
  3. 390 HP-Compaq computers.
  4. Eleven Well-equipped laboratories and 5 servers.
  5. Computer Science and IT program are in full swing with combined annual intake 120 students. It is worth mentioning here that there are at present two qualified post MCA degree holders who are in the Computer Science/IT departments with 7 years of teaching/laboratories experiences.

We strongly feel that EAST deserves the approval of the AICTE to offer MCA program in the next academic year.
